Time For Change

Protect Children

Change doesn’t happen by chance.

It happens by choice—and it takes all of us to bring accountability.

About Project Justice USA

We are a dedicated coalition of individuals and organizations from across the country, united by a shared purpose: transform America’s family court systems through the power of collective voices.  What started as a volunteer-driven initiative in Colorado has grown into a nationwide movement for court reform.

Our strength lies in our approach:

Connection: Building bridges between affected families, court reform advocates, and decision-makers

Collaboration: Uniting diverse stakeholders to drive meaningful change.

Collection: Gathering real experiences and data to illuminate systemic patterns

We believe that sunlight is the best disinfectant. By bringing transparency to family court proceedings, we create accountability. Through accountability, we pave the way for lasting reform.

Our volunteer team represents the communities we serve; parents, professionals, and concerned individuals who understand that functioning family courts are essential to a just society.  Together, we’re working state by state to ensure family courts serve their highest purpose, protecting families and children.

National Family Court Survey

We continue to collect surveys!

Purpose & Vision

This survey is designed to collect and amplify the voices of those who have experienced the family court system across the United States. While not originally intended as an academic research study, it has become a powerful grassroots effort to document patterns, trends, and systemic issues in family court experiences across all 50 states.

As of August 2025, we have completed a data analysis on the first 2,000 and want to continue to collect your stories.

Primary Objectives

This survey is a grassroots initiative to gather data and insights from those who have experienced the family court system first hand.  We leverage that data to drive meaningful conversations and reform.

  1. Create nation-wide and data insight reports that highlight possible patterns and trends in family court experiences.
  2. Use data to engage state legislatures, government officials, and local advocates in informed discussions about reform.
  3. Empower individuals and organizations with the tools and information needed to contribute to meaningful family court improvements.
  4. Foster transparency by shedding light on family court outcomes and their long-term impacts.
  5. Unite voices nationwide to build momentum and advocate for systemic change in the family court system.

Take note: The use of google forms for surveys does require a gmail account, but after you login, you will see how the survey information is set to not collect emails so respondents can remain anonymous.

National Judicial Evaluation Survey

For Lawyers, Court Personnel, Litigants, Witnesses

Addressing the Gap: Building Trust Through Transparent Judicial Evaluation

In a democracy, public trust in the judiciary serves as the cornerstone of legitimacy for our legal system. Yet this trust is increasingly strained in family courts, where life-altering decisions about child custody, domestic violence protections, and family dissolution occur daily.

Our judicial performance evaluation initiative represents a vital bridge between the public and the judiciary.  Rather than undermining judicial independence, this survey framework creates a structured channel for citizens to provide meaningful feedback on judicial conduct, knowledge, and temperament.  By focusing on observable behaviors aligned with established American Bar Association guidelines, we offer judges constructive insights while providing transparency to the public.

By collecting and analyzing patterns of performance, we aim to strengthen public confidence in the judiciary while supporting judges’ professional development in these critical areas.  In each state we collect individual judicial evaluations, then develop reports of the results and make them available to the public.  The public deserves information when making decisions when voting.

Ultimately, a robust judicial evaluation system serves everyone: judges gain valuable feedback for improvement, the public gains greater confidence in judicial decisions, and most importantly, families and children receive more informed, consistent, and compassionate treatment in our courts.

Purpose & Nature of the Survey

This public feedback platform:

  • Provides a structured way to anonymously share experiences with judicial officers based on American Bar Association evaluation standards
  • Uses behavior-based assessment criteria aligned with national best practices
  • Complements official evaluation processes through independent data collection
  • Creates visibility into patterns of judicial conduct through systemic analysis
  • Aggregates feedback to identify both exemplary practices and areas for improvement
  • Foster accountability through evidence-base public reporting
